Hati-Hati: Pelajar Nyaris Kena Jual

“Saya enggan mengikutnya kerana tak pernah keluar bersendirian mahupun bersama rakan tanpa ditemani keluarga.

Benarkah Palestin aman ketika Islam memerintah?

Character Development: Amanah

Taken from: Qasas Assalam, March, Issue no: 15

“There is no faith for he who lacks trustworthiness and there is no religion for he who can’t keep a vow.” - Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).

Amanah (trustworthiness) means to preserve all the blessings that were granted to us by Allah. Allah says, “O you who have believed, do not betray your deposits and you know that” (The Holy Quran 8: 27). Allah asks us to beware of betraying Him and of breaching the trust He gave us. Knowing about our Prophet’s sunnah, then staying from it and not spreading it among people is considered a betrayal to the Prophet (saw).

When the Muslims decided to emigrate from Makkah to Madinah, the disbelievers of Quraysh confiscated all their money and wealth. However, Prophet Muhammad (saw) paid to the disbelievers all their deposits back. Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, “If you have these four qualities you won’t have to care about anything that you have missed in this world. These qualities are; keeping what you were entrusted with, being truthful in your talk, having good manners and eating out of good money.”

Once a person starts his way on the sirat, trustworthiness and kinties appear before his eyes incarnate. “Did you render what you owe me?” asks trustworthiness. So you will be asked this question before passing on the sirat. Our Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, “A Muslim is he from whose hand and tongue the Muslims are safe”. The more people trust you for their money, lives, and honor, the truer the faith you have. Your health, isn’t it a trust? O you smokers aren’t you betraying the trust? Aren’t your eyes considered a trust? So when you look at haram aren’t you betraying the trust? Your tongue, isn’t it a trust? When you speak foul, aren’t you betraying the trust?

However, the trust to protecting Islam is the greatest trust of all. You are responsible for Islam as you will be asked about it on the Day of Judgement. Did you work on guiding your people to the path of Allah? Ibn-Taymiah said, “Trustworthiness is in carrying this religion and conveying to others”.

We often waste small trust: books, bracelets, food, etc. Remember, we will have to pay the owner from our good deeds on the Day of Judgment. Hence return any trust that you have, be it big or small. May Allah helps us to keep what we are entrusted with.
